Request for Grant Proposal

Non-Profits: click here to apply for a grant

The mission of the Route 40 Business Association is to enhance the business environment
for the Route 40 corridor by helping to coordinate the efforts of organizations (such as local
charities, local law enforcement, and government agencies) that directly affect the quality of
life for the citizens of the Route 40 corridor, in order to improve the business environment of
the Route 40 corridor specifically and Harford County in general.

The Route 40 Business Association seeks proposals for charity projects that support the
quality of life for citizens of the Route 40 corridor. The non-profits do not need to be
headquartered in the corridor; however, the request must support charitable needs in the
Route 40 corridor of Harford County.

The Route 40 Business Association is hosting a fundraising event on April 30, 2021, at La Banque at
the Seaplane Base in Havre de Grace. A portion of the funds raised will be distributed to local
charities that support the Route 40 corridor.

COVID-19 has affected fundraising events and as a result, the amount of money to be
distributed has not been determined at this time. We ask that you consider including in your
description how you would use a smaller amount received to provide the Association
greater flexibility in determining grant amounts.

To be eligible for a grant, applicants must be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) and be
able to describe their proposed support to the Route 40 corridor. The Route 40 Business
Association will not consider proposals from for-profit organizations or for sectarian religious
activities, fundraising, or hospitality projects.

Applications for a grant must be submitted to using the
attached grant proposal application by midnight March 26. Grant recipients will be
announced on April 16, 2021. Awards will be mailed by June 15, 2021.
